Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir

Part of the Chorus Niagara Family, Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir (CNCC) was formed in September 2007 under the leadership of its first conductor Timothy Marrie. In October 2009 Melanie Marlin became the new conductor.

Chorus Niagara Children's Choir, under the leadership of director Melanie Marlin, offers Niagara region children ages 7 to 17 the opportunity to develop their musical knowledge, build relationships, create a sense of community and share their love of music with others.

Choristers receive a broad musical education, which includes sight singing, ear training, music theory and vocal techniques, in an engaging and energized environment. CNCC is a unique and enriching opportunity for children and youth to learn, create, imagine and grow through retreats, rehearsals and performances of choral music.

CNCC offers two choirs for potential choristers:

TRAINING CHOIR - providing an introduction to the choral art through interactive warm-ups, music theory, and accessible, fun repertoire. This choir is appropriate for choristers brand new to music, or for those who wish to strengthen their musical foundation.

CONCERT CHOIR - comprised of the more experienced singers capable of performing more complex and challenging repertoire; involves more advanced music theory and sight-singing, and incorporation of movement into performance. This choir is appropriate for experienced singers or musicians with a strong background but new to singing.

* CNCC is committed to providing an energetic experience aimed at bringing confidence and joy through music education. As a result of the supportive community-based process we provide, choristers develop self-awareness and self-confidence.

* CNCC rehearses on Wednesday evenings at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Queenston St., St.Catharines. Training choir rehearses from 4:30 - 6:00pm, and concert choir from 5:15 - 7:00pm.

* Young people aged 7-17 who are interested in visiting a rehearsal or joining the choir should contact:
