The Singathon is a free concert, performed continuously for the public from 10am-3pm. The Chorus performs a variety of works from their popular and classical repertoire, including the famed Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. Local community leaders have been invited as guest conductors who will lead the choir with assistance from Artistic Director Robert Cooper, who will tutor them in the basic methods of conducting. The Singathon is Chorus Niagara’s major annual fundraiser. Last year’s Singathon raised a record amount of $54,000.00. Funds are used to produce and promote the ensembles’ annual season of 4 different choral concerts featuring classical, avant-garde and contemporary choral music.
