Hi. My name is Jocelyn Fralick, and I am one of the altos chosen to be in the "Side by Side" program. This experience has been truly amazing! When they handed me my music at the first rehearsal, I was pretty nervous. I was expecting the music to be 5 or 10 pages long, like the music I had sung at church or... in the Collegiate Concert Choir. So I was really shocked when they handed me two booklets with at least 50 pages in each. In fact, I was more than shocked, I was terrified. What had I got myself into?
I remember thinking after that first rehearsal. "How on earth am I going to get through all this music?" But, with the help of Robert Cooper and many of the chorus members beside me, I was successful. It wasn't easy at first but as the weeks went by, I began to feel like a real Chorus Niagara member, and that was a great feeling! Now as I stand before you to speak about this wonderful experience, I would like to thank you on behalf of all the high school students for inviting us to be a part of this educational program.
The concert tomorrow evening is going to be spectacular (especially the alto section), and I'm glad that I am going to be a part of it. When the concert is over, I'm really going to miss the choir. I'm going to be pretty sad when next Monday night rolls around and I have nothing to do except homework. I learned so much about my vocal talents and look forward to someday being an active member of the Chorus Niagara.
