Chorus Niagara holds the 12th annual Singathon fundraiser again this year with plans to raise a minimum of $50,000.00 to support the organization's 5 concert performance season at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in downtown St.Catharines. Funds are also used to enhance youth initiatives including the Robert Cooper Choral Scholars Program, The Side-by-side High School Chorale and the Chorus Niagara Children's Choir.
The public is invited to attend this free 5-hour choral marathon. The choir sings a variety of selections from it's repertoire with guest conductors from the community. Artistic Director and Conductor Robert Cooper, CM lends the celebrity conductors a helping hand, teaching the basics of conducting before setting the community leader off to conduct Niagara's premiere 100-voice ensemble. Members of Chorus Niagara Children's Choir performs for 30 minutes at noon.
After a thrilling second season in the FirstOntario Performing Arts centre in downtown St.Catharines, the joy continues as Chorus Niagara embarks on the third season in the world-class Partridge Hall with a richly varied, creative and stimulating lineup including; Last Light Above the World: A War Litany, Big Band Christmas, St. Matthew Passion, All Aboard!, and Amadeus.
